What is a passive semester?

A passive semester means that you do not have an active student status with in the given semester, so you do not have to attend classes or take exams. As a self-funded student, you are also exempt from paying tuition fees during this period. All this also means that you cannot apply for a scholarship or a student loan, and you will not even have a valid student ID. In case of a passive semester, the University of Miskolc does not guarantee accommodation in the dormitory either.
