Please, choose a quote (from a movie, book, etc.) that best describes you.

"I refuse to settle for the average."

When did you start your studies and why did you choose the University of Miskolc?

I started my studies in September 2021. I chose Miskolc University because it is one of the best technical universities in Hungary, with high-quality scientific education. All the professors, especially in my Chemical and Materials Engineering department, were top-notch. Additionally, Hungary is a multicultural country that offers many exciting opportunities for international students.

What are the places and activities that an international student should definitely try in Miskolc?

As a student ambassador, my mission is to be the link between students and the faculty, to make sure we're all communicating and working together for the benefit of everyone.

What are/were your biggest challenges during your studies and how did you overcome these challenges?

Like many students who started their education abroad, I had some challenges when I came to Hungary. First, adjusting to a new language was challenging for me. However, I have tried to overcome this by enrolling in Hungarian language courses at the university and making more connections with Hungarian students. Second, managing finances while studying for the first few months was a challenge for me. However, I created a budget plan for myself after the first semester.
I think that everyone's experience is unique, so it's important to stay flexible and adaptable when facing challenges during your studies abroad.

What skills and benefits have you already gained from studying at the University of Miskolc?

I learned a lot from my supervisor and colleagues at the university on how to conduct my scientific research as well as make connections with other scientists throughout the world, which are really beneficial for my future.

How do you think your Miskolc University degree will help you in your life and career?

I am working in my desired field of research (decarbonization), which is totally commensurate with my background. I wholeheartedly believe that this, in turn, can increase my knowledge about this field and guide me to a decent professional or scientific career in the future.

What is the most important thing or advice you would recommend to active/future students of the University of Miskolc?

As an International Student Ambassador, I would recommend the following advice to active and future students:

If you could choose a superpower, what would it be and how would you use it to help active/future students of the University of Miskolc?

Definitely, I teach all of them Hungarian overnight, because it is really important for them to know Hungarian, as most Hungarian people tend to speak their own language even in academic speech.
