International PhD students introduce themselves during materials science intercultural day

12. April 2017. 15:40

The Kerpely Antal Doctoral School of Materials Science and Technologies organised an Intercultural Day on April 10th. The event, which took place for the first time, was held in the Disputa area of the Central Library.

After Prof. Valéria Mertinger opened the event and a Hungarian doctoral student greeted those attending, the international doctoral students introduced themselves. The students come from Algeria, India, Iraq, Morocco and Thailand. The final greetings of the event were from Prof. Zoltán Gácsi, the head of the doctoral school. Students, teachers and supervisors of the doctoral school were present. The event was sponsored by Borsod Brewery (Borsod Sörgyár Zrt.).

In addition to the 10 full-time and 17 part-time Hungarian students currently enrolled in Kerpely Antal Doctoral School of Materials Science and Technologies, there are 13 students from abroad (4 from Iraq, 3 from India, and 2 each from Algeria, Morocco and Thailand). Eleven of the international students are Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holders and two pay tuition fees.
