Chinese auto industry delegation visits campus

Representatives of industry and academia from Chongquing, considered one of the major auto industry centres of China, visited ME on 21 July. The aim of the visit was to familiarise both sides with the possibilities for cooperation in education and in research and to establish relations between them.
 
Professional agreements were reached as a result of the initiatives of the Magyar Gépjárműipari Innovációs Konzorcium (Hungarian Consortium for Vehicle Industry Innovation) and the efforts of the vice dean for scientific and international affairs at the Faculty of Mechnical Engineering and Informatics, Prof. Gabriella Bognár Vadászné. The University is a member of the Consortium.
 
The delegation was received by Prof. Tamás Kékesi, vice rector for scientific and international affairs; Prof. Károly Jármai, vice rector for strategy and development; Prof. Shu Xiaoyuan, director of the Confucius Institute; and Dr. Péter Tamás, deputy dean for economics and development at the Faculty of Economics.
 
During the visit there were introductions of institutions represented. They agreed to continue discussions on future opportunities for cooperation in the auto industry sector. The Chinese side was invited to participate in the Conference on Vehicle and Automotive Engineering and  (VAE2018) organised by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics, where discussion can continue in person. 
 
The visit concluded with a tour of the mechatronic and motor inspection laboratories of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics.
