The AMPER Admission Event 2018 was a great success

It was like being at a festival, looking at the sport hall of the Uni and its surroundings when the Admission Event was held on 8th June for high school students who applied to our university. Students who hopefully will be part of the university’s life could not only meet their future fellow students and the representatives of the faculties but could also build relationships with companies that they might work for in the future.

The event began with the welcome speech of dr. Ákos Kriza – mayor of Miskolc – and the rector Prof. András Torma at 4 p.m.  It continued with the concert of The Sign, some of whose members are ME students. The ’festival’ lasted till the late hours, and the following performers also made sure of the great mood: Helena and her band, Jetlag and the star of night, ByeAlex and the Slepp.

Between concerts first dancers, then the Kelet Brass Band entertained the audience in the sport hall, meanwhile outside a DJ was taking care of the good atmosphere.

During the event, future freshmen had the chance to ask their questions (even those you would not ask on formal university recruitment occasions) from the faculty representatives. The University’s most important partner companies attended the event as well, bringing various entertainment equipment such as an air-hockey pitch, electric bike or go-cart.

The area around the sport hall was full of life, future students could try bubble football, extreme archery, laser tag, segway and airbag-sumo. Those who got tired could have a rest on the sofa provided by the Ecumenical Chaplaincy or make themselves comfortable on one of the many beanbags.
