Electrical Engineering Sciences without Borders

The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Miskolc organised an international scientific conference entitled Electrical Engineering Sciences Without Borders on 9th November 2018. Following the opening of the event, the electricity supplier E.ON and the University of Miskolc entered into a dual cooperation agreement. The contract was signed by Géza Nagy, Executive Director, on behalf of E.ON Tiszántúli Áramhálózati Zrt. and Prof. András Torma, Rector, on behalf of the University of Miskolc.

Subsequently Imre Orlay, technical expert of the Network Strategic Division of Tiszántúli Áramhálózati Zrt., handed the ELMŰ-ÉMÁSZ Award to Rafael Ruben Boros, departmental engineer, and Dr. István Bodnár, assistant professor. Subsequently Imre Orlay, technical expert of the Network Strategic Division of Tiszántúli Áramhálózati Zrt., handed the ELMŰ-ÉMÁSZ Award to Rafael Ruben Boros, departmental engineer, and Dr. István Bodnár, assistant professor. Mr Boros received  the award, which was jointly founded by ELMŰ-ÉMÁSZ Zrt. and the University of Miskolc, for his excellent thesis and outstanding results on his degree from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics, while Dr Bodnár received the award  for his outstanding work with talented students as an instructor of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics and for his major role in the development of the electrical engineering specialization of the electrical engineering BSc program.

Conference participants not only attended and gave lectures: a small concert was put on for them by a group of university student and they participated in the re-naming of a 49-year old tram that started its career in Vienna, taking a trip on her to a park on the other end of the city.
