BEFORE ARRIVAL
PCR test is not required to enter Hungary (please be informed that some airlines still can require it), but you have to stay in quarantine for 10 days after your arrival.
IF YOU COME FROM A VISA-BOUND COUNTRY
You have to undergo a medical examination at the border to check for signs of Covid-19 infection. If there is no suspicion of infection, you will have to stay in quarantine for 10 days - except if
The quarantine obligation is ordered and checked by the local police. To get exempted from quarantine, you need to have 2 negative PCR tests within a minimum of 48 hours, and a maximum of 5 days of difference done after arrival.
Hungary accepts the first PCR test brought from EU member states, countries of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, South Korea, countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Russian Federation, Republic of China, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States and from these countries - the second PCR test has to be done in Hungary after arrival.
Please note that the University of Miskolc does not organize PCR testing.
You can do your PCR test already at Budapest Airport Coronavirus Testing Center.
If you decide to PCR tests done, you have to inform the police about leaving the quarantine for PCR testing purposes and about the place of the test 24 hours in advance, by submitting an online form. After receiving the PCR test result, you have to inform the police about the result through an online form. These online forms are found here.
Please choose "Submissions related to the epidemic control measure" first, then "Send information about PCR test date / Send information on the results of PCR negative tests related to border crossing".
IF YOU COME FROM A NON-VISA BOUND COUNTRY
You shall submit a written entry request to the Hungarian Police online. The entry request can be submitted in English or in Hungarian electronically only. You may submit the request here. Please choose "Submissions related to the epidemic control measures first, then On lodging an enquity request to cross the state border". Please upload your Final Letter of Admission (for self-support students) or Letter of Award (for scholarship students) as well.

AFTER ARRIVAL
Registration for COVID19 vaccine (for international students)
If you would like to apply for an immunity card, please fill the application form (below) and hand it to the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Government Office or any Government Office.
Please note that you will have to provide proof of identity when submitting the application form, so please make sure you have the following documents with you:
- medical certificate confirming the vaccination
- passport
- residence permit
- social security card - TAJ card (if you have one)
You will have to fill out and submit the form written in Hungarian, the English version is just for guidance to fill in the form.
