The Confucius Institute at the University of Miskolc sponsored an online roundtable discussion on 17 June. The main objective was to demonstrate the importance of Chinese firms operating in Hungary, and more specifically in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. The event aimed to raise general awareness of the output, experiences and needs of these companies. From the discussion it became clear that the network formed among these organizations is important not only to the Confucius Institute and the region, but also to Hungary.
The event was opened by rector Prof. Zita Horváth, dean of the economics faculty Pof. Veresné Somosi Mariann, and Vice President of the Wanhua-BorsodChem Group Béla Varga. UM participants included vice-rector, Dr. Roland Szilágy, vice-dean Katalin Lipták and Prof. Jie Liu, co-director of the Confucius Institute. Among the panel members were Richárd Mohr, Dr. Gergő Salát, Dr. Viktória Józsa, Dr. Andrea Gubik, Dr. Kuttor Dániel (co-director of the Confucius Institute) and Kulcsár Alexandra, with Dr. Noémi Hajdú acting as the moderator.
