PROGRAMME FOR TALENTED YOUNG PEOPLE: UM and MCC

22. July 2021.

The Mathia Corvinus Collegium (MCC), an organisation that supports talented young people of various ages, will be available to Miskolc students from September.

A cooperation agreement was signed by the UM rector and by the MCC deputy director general Péter Lánczi. Prof. Zita Horváth said that the main goal of the university is to provide employers in the region with with a well-educated workforce and to convince young people to stay in the region; expanding the opportunities open to them is important, and MCC can be of help in this. Mr Lánczi emphasised that MCC and its activities complement but do not replace educational institutions. Its members have special chances to explore and nurture their talents and to join a community of young people that will benefit them far beyond here and now.

MCC is sponsoring a course for new students enrolling in UM that will focus on developing effective and broad-minded ways of thinking along with writing and oral skills. It will be held after classes in the afternoon and is free of charge; MCC will also provide some student hostel accommodations free of charge. Other MCC programmes in Miskolc are the Young Talents Programme and Secondary School Programme.
