GROWING NUMBER OF UM RESEARCHERS AMONG WORLD’S TOP SCIENTISTS

Three researchers doing work at the University of Miskolc are ranked in this year’s World Top 10,000 scientists by the AD Scientific Index 2022. They are:

• Prof. János Szebeni (Department of Nanobiotechnology and Regenerative Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences)
• Prof. György Kaptay (Institute of Physical Metallurgy, Metal Forming and Nanotechnology, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering (part-time))
• Prof. László S. Tóth (Institute of Physical Metallurgy, Metal Forming and Nanotechnology, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering) (retired)

The AD Scientific Index also issues a list of the top million scientists across the world, which includes six UM researchers:

• Prof. Gábor Mucsi (Faculty of Earth Science and Engineering)
• Prof. Károly Jármai (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics)
• Prof. Klára Hernádi (Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering)

The AD Scientific Index was first proposed by John P. A. Ioannidis, a Stanford University professor, medical researcher, and author.  The Index is based on Scopus indexing data and covers publications between 1960 and 2020.
