The foundation stone was laid at the beginning of last summer, and now walls are going up and the shape of the structure can be seen. This is the future home of the Centre for Academic Data Analytics and Archival Open Research Data Repository, a ten-billion forint project sponsored with governmental investment. Construction is on schedule.
The modern, eye-catching structure is being built with environment-friendly technology and an energy-efficient design to aid in meeting the goal of a sustainable centre of knowledge.
This will bring the central library, museum, and the county branch of the National Archives of Hungary into one complex, while expanding storage facilities and adding new wings to the existing building. These will be needed, since the archival collection that will be moving to campus contains enough documents to stretch for 15 kilometres if placed side by side.
