Are you interested in the space industry and learning more about space data and sustainable tourism? Here’s your chance to come up with ideas and turn them into plans.
The CASSINI Hackathon, supported by the European Commission, provides an opportunity to develop ideas for innovation in tourism using satellite data. Figure out how to use data from the Galileo, EGNOS and Copernicus satellites to assist in:
1. identifying sustainable travel destinations,
2. introducing lesser-known cities and cultures to potential tourists,
3. promoting responsible tourism in nature.
To apply, form a group of 3-4 people, come up with a plan to address one of these challenges, and apply for the Hackathon. If you’re on your own, go ahead and apply – there’ll be chances to find team members later. Note that the language of the competition is English.
The event will be held in Budapest on 12-14 May, though online participation is also an option.
The winner of the Hungarian round will not only win valuable prizes but also the opportunity to proceed to the EU round.
