ALUMNI TALK SERIES BEGINS

27. April 2022. 15:50

The university’s International Relations Office, together with the International Student and Alumni Network, is organising a new series of events that bring alumni in academic and industrial careers back to campus to share their experiences with students and aid them with career decisions.

The first event featured the earth sciences, with Dr Endre Nádasi, assistant lecturer in the Institute of Geophysics and Geoinformatics, and Dr Hazim Dmour, associate professor in the Institute of Petroleum and Natural Gas and head of the MOL Department. They spoke informally about their own experiences, working towards a partnership of industry with higher education, what skills and skill development would be useful for graduates, and how students can prepare for their future careers and job hunting. Muhammad Nur Ali Akbar, a former Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme student from Indonesia who earned a degree at UM and now works for MOL, spoke about his years studying here, his current workplace, and what to focus on in order to meet one’s objectives.
