UM has won nearly HUF 3.5 billion in the Széchenyi Plan Plus grant programme for the development of digital education methodology, the modernisation of digital infrastructure supporting practical education, and the building of student and teacher skills related to the use of information technology. The aim of the project "DigitALL - Digital Transformation of Education at the University of Miskolc" is to create a complex digital ecosystem that, in addition to providing innovative support for educational activities, will also contribute to aligning students' practical skills more closely with labour market requirements.

Digitalisation-related developments are also a focus of the European Union's 2030 Agenda, providing funding of HUF 81 billion for Hungarian higher education institutions. “The HUF 3.5 billion funding that UM received will not only ensure the development of the entire digital network on campus, but will also contribute to raising the level of digital culture through theoretical and practical training. The end result will give the university the image of a renewed institution in 3-4 years' time," said Prof. Zita Horváth, rector, at the project's opening event on Friday. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2026.

“The DigitALL project will be used for the following purposes: the development of the IT network, the modernisation and expansion of digital equipment and the creation of a unified, closed system environment for distance and hybrid education at institutional level. This will be complemented by digital skills development programmes for everyone working or studying at the university," said Dr. Roland Szilágyi, Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs. The developments to be implemented include educational innovation elements such as the use of artificial intelligence, which will also contribute to the development of competences acquired in the courses based on labour market needs.
