The University of Miskolc and Sunway University in Malaysia will bring together two seemingly exotic cultures that are far apart. The cooperation aims to promote student and faculty mobility and joint research.

"Although the University of Miskolc is from 1735 and we are a young university, there’s lots that we can learn from each other in the areas of technology, staff and student exchange, shared research, especially to do with engineering, with IT and also just building understanding," said Prof. Stephen Hall, Dean of the Interdisciplinary Faculty at Sunway University in Malaysia.

He stressed that we have a shared responsibility to work towards sustainability for a better planet. And although English is a second language in Malaysia and a foreign language in Hungary, the two universities will be able to use English as a tool to build relationships between staff and student mobility and to start joint research.

"There is a passion and enthusiasm for building global competences. Hungary will seem exotic to many Malaysians but interestingly different.” He expects his colleagues and students to be very enthusiastic about international collaboration with the University of Miskolc.
