In September, the World Rectors' Forum 2022 was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The Institute of Logistics represented the University of Miskolc. At the meeting, the Miskolc delegation discussed the promotion of bilateral scientific and technological relations with representatives of the participating universities and Kyrgyzstan's Ambassador to Hungary.
UM’s Institute of Logistics participated in the Erasmus+ Prodlog project launched in 2017 for educational and research-oriented logistics development in Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in cooperation with ten German, French, Kazakh, Russian and Kyrgyz higher education institutions.
Following the successful completion of the programme in 2021, Prof. Zita Horváth signed an agreement with the Kyrgyz State Technical University to further deepen bilateral scientific and technological relations in the field of logistics. The partnership will allow for further joint research, such as the design of virtual logistics companies in the field of agricultural logistics, knowledge transfer in curriculum and project development, seminars, workshops, exhibitions and conferences.
The cooperation will also support cross-border joint work, publication and application activities through exchanges of teachers, researchers and students. Referring to this, Dr. Péter Tamás said that students from Kyrgyzstan will be able to apply for the English-taught master's and doctoral courses at UM starting next. It is expected that the number of international students in these fields of study will increase, helped by the support of the Stipendium Hungaricum programme.
