RENOWNED EXPERTS IN ENGLISH STUDIES MEET IN MISKOLC
The literature, history, language and linguistics of English-speaking people will be the focus of a conference organised by the Hungarian Society for the Study of English (HUSSE), which will be hosted by the University of Miskolc between 23 and 26 January.
Dr. Attila Dósa, Associate Professor of the Institute of Modern Philology (UM’s Faculty of Arts), said that the members of the society, are experts teaching and researching at Hungarian universities who are concerned with the literature, culture, history, language and linguistics of English-speaking peoples.
HUSSE (founded in 1993) is also a member of a larger organisation, the European Society for the Study of English (ESSE), which brings together national organisations in Europe. Their representatives will also be attending the meeting in Miskolc. In addition to the plenary sessions and presentations in several sections, the programme will include the presentation of professional awards and book launches.
The conference is held every two years, and this will be the first time that the University of Miskolc joins the series, Dr. Dósa said.
