Joining in nation-building at important points 

The higher education institution, with twelve fields of study and two hundred degree programmes in eight faculties, is a broad-spectrum, diverse institution that can meet almost all the needs of the regional labour market. In the spring semester, more than a thousand students graduated from UM, the leading knowledge centre in northeastern Hungary. 

The university's data analysis centre is under construction 

The construction of a unique European-level knowledge centre and archives under construction was celebrated. The Open Research Data Resource Centre and Archives of the University of Miskolc is expected to be completed by next summer. 

Joint project to measure methane emissions 

A joint project to measure methane emissions in the Hungarian high-pressure natural gas transmission system has been launched by FGSZ Natural Gas Transmission Ltd. and UM. A prototype of the system for measuring methane emissions will be set up and tested at the Kistokaj gas transfer station near Miskolc over the next three years. The project, which is also supported by the Hungarian government, will start on 1 July and aims to develop new joint procedures on the FGSZ system in the long term to reduce emissions. 

Good luck! - the graduating students said goodbye 

Following the tradition of Selmec, the graduating students bid farewell to the city of Miskolc with a torchlight procession called the Salamander. As a new tradition, they bid farewell to the campus by planting trees.
