Stories, events and achievements from the past year at the University of Miskolc. 

We have started the academic year 2022/23! 

The Rector of the University of Miskolc, Prof. Zita Horváth, cut the 2022/23 academic year's Taste of the Cake, thus the beginning of this academic year. The cake, made of eight different coloured sponge cake bases, symbolized the eight faculties of the University of Miskolc. The sponge cake bases were topped with vanilla and cream to complete the cake, which was specially created for the event. 

Semester opening thoughts 

"The citizens of the University of Miskolc are also citizens of the county town of Miskolc. The symbolic handing over of the keys of Miskolc means that the city counts on the university students." Let them appreciate and enjoy all the aspects of their university citizenship in a protected and supportive environment. 

Enthusiastic Miskolc students teach for Hungary 

From the very beginning, the University of Miskolc has been involved in the national programme 'Teach for Hungary'. In fact, every year more and more students apply to be mentors in schools and more and more schools apply to join the programme. 

Students from abroad welcomed 

This year's Orientation Day, organised by the Directorate of International Relations, was an unusual one: the faculties of the University of Miskolc and student support organisations were present. The Language Teaching Centre, the Confucius Institute, the Community Service Office and the Sports Centre were among the institutions that attracted attention, presenting the services, training, courses and programmes they offer to students.
