"The Hungarian government is committed to strengthening the knowledge centres of Northern Hungary, and Miskolc has and will continue to play a leading role in this", emphasised Orsolya Ferencz, Ministerial Commissioner for Space Research, at the February graduation ceremony of the University of Miskolc.
"Miskolc has become one of the leading centres in space materials sciences not only in Hungary but in some respects in the world, both from the industrial and academic point of view," said Dr. Ferencz.
"We are all familiar with the space furnace, which is still one of the world's best space-tested materials science tools. Thanks to the work of Professor András Roósz, Professor Pál Bárczy and Professor Erik Fuchs, it is still one of the Hungarian space activities we are most proud of", she continued.
More than a thousand students graduating in the autumn semester of the 2022/2023 academic year received their diplomas at the University of Miskolc on 20 and 21 February.
