FACULTY OF MECAHNICAL ENGINEERING AND INFORMATICS WELCOMES NEW STUDENTS

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics of the University of Miskolc welcomed its new students at an opening ceremony. After the first-year students took their vows, those who achieved outstanding admission results received their TOP 10 scholarships of 100,000 HUF, followed by the presentation of the awards given by the Faculty Council.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and InformatiCS offers more than seven decades of theoretical and practical knowledge, a range of modern and innovative courses. The research and development activities, coordinated with the teaching tasks, provide the faculty with up-to-date, high-quality and competitive knowledge," said Dr. Zoltán SimEnfalvi, Dean of the Faculty, in his opening speech. He also referred to the fact that the best results achieved by the University of Miskolc in international rankings are also linked to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics.

Speaking about the admission results for the academic year 2023 and 2024, the Dean said that more than 900 students were admitted this year, 125 percent more than last year. The increase in the number of full-time students was even more impressive than the increase in the number of correspondence students, which was more than four times higher than last year. Dr. Zoltan Simenfalvi commented on the spectacular increase in the number of new students, noting that the faculty is launching a mentoring programme to help bridge the knowledge gap and outlining the opportunities offered by their talent management programmes.
