At the Planet Budapest 2023 sustainability expo and experience programme, the University of Miskolc presented itself with presentations and a stand.

Sustainability is a key issue at the University of Miskolc, which is why the institution is taking every opportunity to showcase its sustainability-related education and R&D capacity to the public. In this spirit, the faculties of the University participated in the five-day Planet Budapest sustainability expo and experience programme, which was a major international event and a new way of addressing sustainability. Unique in Central Europe, the sustainability event addressed a broad cross-section of society and economic actors to raise awareness of the impacts of climate change.

The University of Miskolc's Faculty of Earth and Environmental Engineering, the Faculty of Materials and Chemical Engineering, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics, and the Centre for Advanced Materials and Intelligent Technologies for Higher Education and Industrial Cooperation welcomed visitors and interested young people at the University's stand.

On the theme "The link between industry and sustainability", "Metals are the new oil. How so?" was presented by Dr Imre Gombkötő, Senior Research Fellow at the University of Miskolc. Prof. Dr. Endre Dobos, President of the Hungarian Soil Science Society and Professor at the University of Miskolc, presented a paper on "Near-natural agriculture in practice".
