State-of-the-art arc welding laboratory inaugurated at the University of Miskolc. The research laboratory, worth around 100 million forints and equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, robotic tools and simulation techniques, demonstrates a new model of university collaboration in industrial development.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Institute of Materials Engineering and Materials Technology of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics of the University of Miskolc, where the arc welding laboratory was equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The research workshop was established with the support and cooperation of the Munich University of Applied Sciences, Fronius GmbH and Froweld Ltd. and serves both research into industrial applications and university training.
"The close link between theory and practice has been a constant feature of the university's life since Selmecbánya", said the Rector of the University of Miskolc, Prof. Dr. Zita Horváth, referring to the institution's industrial relations and research and development activities, emphasising the importance of mutually supportive bilateral relations.
One of the goals of the University of Miskolc's organisational development efforts is to create a 4th generation university model, which seeks new ways of business-industry-environment cooperation. The idea is that ideas from industrial customers should be implemented by the institution, and that the ideas of the future should be based on the ideas of the future.
