More than 400 international students were invited to a colourful programme at the University of Miskolc, where faculty ambassadors were also represented.
The Welcome Day has become a tradition, giving international students the opportunity to get to know, among others, the International Student Council of the University of Miskolc, which has been established over the past five years. Krisztina Sándor, Director of the Directorate of Academic and International Affairs, commented on this. "For this occasion, we have invited more than 400 students, who will not only get to know the student organisations they can join, but also the programmes they will be offered during the academic year. I hope that they will get to know each other and that they will have a very good impression of the University of Miskolc," said Krisztina Sándor.
"We are gathered here on Welcome Day to celebrate the integration of international students at our university," said Youssef Nada, ME-HÖK Vice President for External Affairs, who said it is very important to internationalise the university and promote all the student organisations that are active here, such as the Student Self-Government.
"As a Faculty Ambassador for the Faculty of Economics, I am honoured to be one of the staff who helps international students coming here, we have a great tradition, a good culture and a good community for international students and I wanted to be part of that to help newcomers on their journey," said Tariq Abumunshar.
"I applied to the University of Miskolc because it is very important for me as an international student to integrate into the community, into our university here in Europe. I am very proud to be here," said Otman Atanane.
