For the first time, the University of Miskolc organised a comprehensive introduction to university life for first-year students. – Media literacy is no longer enough to shape the digital future. This was highlighted by experts at a conference organised by the National Media and Infocommunications Authority, the University of Miskolc and CineFest International Film Festival. – The tenth semester of the Teach for Hungary! programme, which was launched to support disadvantaged children, opened with a day of fun at the University of Miskolc.

On 11 September, the University of Miskolc welcomed its first-year students as full citizens at a ceremonial Senate meeting to open the academic year. At the event, János Csák, Minister of Culture and Innovation, spoke about the partnership between the state and higher education, the academic and institutional freedom of universities and the responsibility of intellectuals.

This year, the University of Miskolc and the city of Miskolc held the admission results waiting in the Csengey Garden in the centre of Miskolc. After the dot-drawing, it was revealed that nearly 80 percent more people were admitted to Miskolc in 2023 than in the previous year.
