Miskolc hosted the European Universities Badminton Championships and the European Universities Water Polo Championships 2023 between 13-19 July. Two hundred athletes from 22 European higher education institutions from eleven countries will take part in the international event. The continental championships are organised by the University of Miskolc and the Miskolc University Athletics and Football Club, in cooperation with the Hungarian University Sports Association, the Hungarian Badminton Association, the Hungarian Water Polo Association and the Miskolc Municipality.

The closing conference of the University Innovation Ecosystem competition ’From Knowledge to Business - Utilisation of Knowledge Assets at the University of Miskolc’ was organised by the University of Miskolc's Centre for Advanced Materials and Intelligent Technologies for Higher Education and Industrial Cooperation on the occasion of the 4th Innovation Day. The meeting was the final event of a three and a half year programme, which presented the achievements of the university.

Dr. György Czél, professor at the Institute of Energy, Ceramics and Polymer Technology of the University of Miskolc, has compiled a missing textbook in English on the methods of materials testing. ’Material Testing’ is a reference book for foreign students of engineering materials science to deepen their professional knowledge. By writing this book, the author also wants to inspire his fellow professors to join the ranks of foreign-language textbook authors at the University of Miskolc.
